The forthcoming CompBioMedX Kick Off Meeting, which will be held at UCL on 13 December 2022 and will run between 10 am and 5 pm UK time.

There will be a networking and drinks reception for those attending in person.

CompBioMedX is a UK EPSRC funded project, launching on 1 December 2022 for 2 years. The project will explore Computational Biomedicine at the Exascale.

We welcome you all to participate in this meeting either (and preferably) in-person at UCL or remotely via zoom (please contact xuanye.gu@ucl.ac.uk to obtain the zoom link).

You can find registration link here please register as soon as possible. We will be holding a social dinner on the evening of 12th December. It will start at 6:00 pm and end at 8:00 pm.

The CompBioMedX Kick Off Meeting provides an opportunity to meet project partners and collaborators, to present knowledge and experience required to carry out the project and to explore different aspects of this high priority use case for the development of exascale applications, including:

• An introduction to CompBioMedX’s research exemplars for the development of treatments for cardiovascular pathophysiology and molecularly-based medicine.
• The opportunity to access an exascale computer within Peter Coveney’s 2023 DOE INCITE award on Frontier.
• Promoting innovation in the field of computational biomedical modelling and simulation
• Co-design between application developers and HPC specialists.
• Engagement with stakeholders in healthcare and healthcare-related fields.
• Education and training of current and future generations of medical professionals.
• Delivering knowledge exchange in computational biomedicine to practitioners and to the public.
• Engagement with other members of the ExCALIBUR community to provide active outreach and knowledge integration.

The meeting will describe the project goals and expected outcomes and will describe how the project’s main objectives will be achieved. It will also highlight the channels, partners, and stakeholders we will be using for collaborative communication and the dissemination of project findings.
